Overnight Registration Cost

HMNS Member – $65

Non-Member – $80

Saturday Morning Adventure Class Cost

HMNS Member – $15

Non-Member – $25

Forms and payment need to be submitted no later than JULY 18, 2019. You should receive an email after completing this form which will allow you to calculate a total for your Scout/group.   Payment can be made via Paypal.

Important Information

The Overnight includes access to Museum permanent exhibit halls after hours, STEM/Nova activity stations, garage parking, HMNS Overnight patch, late night snack, a planetarium show in the Burke Baker Planetarium, sleeping in one of the Museum’s permanent exhibition halls, continental breakfast, and admission to the Museum’s permanent exhibit halls and the STEM/Nova Program from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2019.

Scouts must be at least 6 years old to participate in the overnight.  Lion and Tiger Scouts are unable to earn Nova Awards.  However, Tiger Scouts can participate in the overnight.

The museum does not allow non-Scout siblings to attend the overnight, but they can attend Scout Day on Saturday, September 21, 2019.

STEM/NOVA Overnight Classes

Scouts will work on the Tech Talk Nova Award during the overnight, and have an opportunity to attend adventure classes in the morning which should allow them to complete the award. Classes are from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.  The cost is $15 for HMNS members and $25 for non-members.  They are only for Scouts who attend the overnight.

  • Webelos – Movie Maker

STEM/Nova Day

Scouts will have access to the Museum at a discounted rate while working towards requirements for Nova Awards. The program will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at 1pm. Scouts will have the opportunity to work on certain STEM/Nova Awards during their visit to HMNS.

The museum will also have STEM Professional Booths available, so scouts can visit with STEM professionals from a variety of industries. Afternoon classes will be available to complete the required Adventures for both Nova Awards! Be sure to stop by the check-in table in the Museum’s Grand Hall that morning to access discounted pricing and discover what requirements you can meet!

Scouts will be able to work on the Science Everywhere Nova Award during the museum’s Scout Day on September 21, 2019. They will have the opportunity to complete all sections of the award requirements except the adventure requirement. Participation in the adventure classes below should allow Scouts to complete their Science Everywhere Nova Award, however, there is an additional fee.

Afternoon Adventure Classes

Registration for the 2018 adventure classes is now open.  They will be held at the museum after STEM/NOVA day program concludes from 1pm to 3pm.  The cost is $15 for HMNS members and $25 for non-members.

  • Wolf – Motor Away
  • Bear  – Make it Move
  • Webelos – Moviemaking

Lion and Tiger Scouts are unable to earn Nova Awards.
