Pack 60 will be participating in this year’s Trails End Popcorn Fundraising efforts. Hundreds of thousands of dollars go back to the Scouting program in the Sam Houston Area Council as a result of the annual popcorn sale. 73% of all dollars collected during the sale support local Scouting. The popcorn sale is a way for a Scout to support his or her way through the various activities during the year. All information and resources are available at www.shac.org/popcorn.
For any that are uncomfortable with the idea of selling popcorn due to the pandemic we find ourselves in, we hope to ease your concern by letting you know there are zero contact ways of selling popcorn.
*Online Direct – Selling popcorn online creates a contact free way of fundraising. As a bonus for social distance selling, Trails End has upped the amount of points the scout earns per online to 2 points per dollar.
*Traditional Take Order – Traditional selling with take order forms can be contact free with the use of the trails end app. Scouts can still go door to door and enter the sale in the app, then share the link with the customer who can complete the payment from their own phone. This option allows for no contact while keeping with the spirit of traditional selling techniques.
*Wagon and Storefront Sales with Product – We have set up 10 dates between Aug 15th and Oct 24th where we will have a booth set up to sell popcorn at Walgreens. Scouts can also check out popcorn from our Popcorn Kernel to take door to door in their neighborhood. Sometimes, it’s easier to sell popcorn when the customer can see it and take it immediately after payment.
Trails end offers a rewards program where the scouts will earn an Amazon Gift card at different dollar values (based on sales). In addition to the Trails End Popcorn Rewards, we have set up levels within our pack to help guide goals to fund your year of scouting in our pack. See both flyers below for your reference.
