We have been busy in March and April with some fun activities and some service projects.
Early in March we participated in our annual cleanup of portions of the Castlegate community. The Scouts were amazed at the amount of trash they were able to clean up.
The Atrium in the church’s Annex building was our other service project. The Atrium was cleaned out and flowers, plants and new mulch added. The new flowers and plants made the Atrium look absolutely amazing just in time for Easter.
Our fun activities included the Scout Fair at Reliant Park in Houston. Although we did not host a booth, a number of our Scouts did attend this annual event hosted by the Sam Houston Area Council (SHAC). It is a noisy, packed but fun event that everyone seemed to enjoy.
Our spring campout was held at the Bovay Scout Camp south of Navasota. Although it was not as well attended as the fall campout everyone who did attend enjoyed the experience.
Our Pack meeting in April involved the Fellas Pizza Bake in addition to the usual bestowing of awards. The variety of pizzas made by scouts and their fathers was amazing. Awards were given for best savory, best sweet and best decorated pizzas. The Webelos Scouts were the judges and had a wonderful time tasting all the pizzas. After the judging all Scouts and their parents proceeded to finish off the remaining pizzas.
